A man who broke into a vehicle belonging to one of Beyonce's choreographers during her Cowboy Carter tour and stole unreleased music has pleaded guilty and been sentenced in an Atlanta court.

Kelvin Evans, 40, pleaded guilty in Fulton County Superior Court in Atlanta on 12 May 2026 to charges including entering an automobile with intent to commit theft and criminal trespass. The incident occurred in July 2025 during Beyonce's Cowboy Carter tour stop in Atlanta, when Evans broke into a rental Jeep Wagoneer belonging to one of her choreographers and dancers.

Among the items taken were unreleased recordings from the tour, prompting immediate concern from Beyonce's camp about the security of her creative work. Not all stolen items were recovered during the subsequent investigation, though fans and industry observers widely celebrated the guilty plea as a meaningful outcome given the sensitivity of what was taken.

The case drew significant attention partly because of what it revealed about the vulnerability of touring artists to theft of their intellectual property and personal effects. High-value, unreleased creative material is notoriously difficult to recover once it enters the wrong hands, and the music industry has long grappled with leaks that can fundamentally alter an artist's release strategy and commercial impact.

Beyonce herself has not publicly commented on the case or on the recovery of the stolen material. Her Cowboy Carter album, which drew widespread critical acclaim upon its release, marked a significant moment in her career and in country music more broadly, making the security of associated tour material all the more significant.

Evans's sentencing serves as a reminder that theft of celebrity property, and particularly of unreleased creative work, carries serious legal consequences regardless of the target's public profile.
